Experimental Interventions on the Towpath II

Rowing Video Projected

We have been experimenting with projecting videos from the project in the natural and built environment along the towpath in preparation for the Sounding Lines Multimedia Art Trail this Saturday 30th August 11am-4pm starting from Kilsheelan (first 2.5km along towpath towards Carrick on Suir) as part of National Heritage Week. All welcome!

On our last walk along the River Suir we met with John Quinlan – local historian and character. His family have lived alongside the river since the early 1800s and he told us fascinating stories of the history of the bridge at Kilsheelan and how it was blown up during the Civil War and the role this had in local history. John was responsible for campaigning for a plaque commemorating the soldier killed when it was blown up. We hope to reivist John and record some of his stories.
